2007 to 2014 four and six-cylinder diesels in the 118d, 120d, 318d, 320d, 520d, X1, X3 and X5. Timing chain and guide wear, swirl flaps, EGR and DPF issues, turbo actuator faults, oil cooler and filter housing gaskets.
2014 onward four and six-cylinder diesels in the 118d, 120d, 320d, 520d, 530d, X1, X3 and X5. Common faults include EGR cooler issues, DPF blockage, intake carbon build-up, turbo actuator problems, injector faults, coolant leaks and oil leaks.
2011 to 2017 four-cylinder turbo petrol engines in the 120i, 320i, 328i, 520i, 528i, X1 and X3. Common issues include timing chain guide wear, oil leaks, electric water pump faults, thermostat failure, turbo wastegate rattle and injector problems.
2015 onward four and six-cylinder turbo petrol engines in the 120i, 320i, 330i, 340i, 520i, 540i, X1 and X3. Common issues include coolant leaks, oil filter housing faults, PCV problems, water pump failure, VANOS faults and turbo-related issues.
2005 to 2016 six-cylinder petrol engines in the 125i, 130i, 325i, 330i, 335i, 525i, 535i, X3 and X5. Common faults include water pump failure, cover leaks, oil filter housing gaskets, VANOS issues, charge pipe cracks and turbo wear.
BMW electric models including the i3, i4 and iX use high-voltage battery and electric drive systems. Common concerns include charging faults, 12-volt battery issues, drivetrain warnings, coolant faults, heat pump problems, charging port faults and battery health diagnostics.

N47 and N57 timing chain

N47 timing chain replacement is the job we’re best known for. The chain, guides, tensioner and oil pump chain are replaced with genuine BMW parts before the chain lets go and takes the engine with it. A rattle on cold start is the warning sign. We also handle N20 and N26 chain guide failures and early B47 chain issues.
